Bedroom portugal windows

Let there be light

Restoring windows in an old house. Renovation of an old manor house, Portugal

We have made a major decision, well in the grand scheme of things, its probably a teeny weeny baby decision, but to me. at this moment. it seems pretty big.

We are still awaiting to hear about our new windows (believe me this will be a recurring theme for this renovation), but we have now decided on the boarded up window in the bedroom, we will be unveiling it.

The window has been boarded up but not very well. The window and glass are still in place and it has literally had wooden boards placed across it.

Some are plastered in to the wall and others are just about covered. The professionalism of the previous builders never fails to amaze.

But today it will all be removed and left ready for our new windows.

It was not a job that took very long, but was one of those jobs that makes a big difference.

Here it is and as they say, let there be light!

Well how exciting to see more light in the room, amazing indeed how professional, or in this case unprofessional of work done to the home previously. Unfortunately, many cut corners and did work themselves instead of hiring the right guys. But you guys are persevering and continuing on to enjoy your piece of paradise and lovely home. Bless your hearts!
